The City Club of San Francisco offers ten unique event rooms on four floors with awe-inspiring architectural details and original artwork. Even the bronze-framed elevator doors are exquisite.

Guests entering on the tenth floor will find a grand staircase leading to the eleventh floor. Gracing the stairwell is the famous Diego Rivera fresco, Allegory of California. If you are planning a larger event, the tenth and eleventh floors may be reserved separately or together based on your event needs.

On the twelfth floor is our beautifully renovated penthouse. Opened in the fall of 2012, this stunning event space features extraordinary views and a décor that reflects the building’s history.

Located on the eleventh floor of The City Club, our dramatic Main Dining Room is an exceptional choice for both social occasions and business functions. The walls are paneled in clear-lacquered ash while the tall windows overlooking the city are trimmed in pear wood and ebony. Four paintings by Robert Boardman Howard represent the gathering, preparing, serving and consuming of food and drink. The high point of the Main Dining Room is the fireplace of Belgian blue marble and St. Genevieve golden vein marble. Rising to the brass-leaf ceiling is a bas-relief wall sculpture of cast bronze finished in gunmetal plate that depicts the 12 signs of the zodiac.

Grand yet welcoming, The City Club Café offers ample space for sizeable gatherings. This beautifully appointed space on the tenth floor features a massive 1930s-era library table of black marble and brass, custom-designed lounge pieces and brass benches, and cocktail tables of black Bakelite and chrome. The cathedral ceiling is made of light gold leaf and green gold leaf. Above the fireplace, which features laminated sections of California travertine, is a Ralph Stackpole sculpture. Carved in place from Jeanne Dare stone, the piece shows an archer surrounded by figures of animals, designed to represent the moods of man.

This addition to The City Club was unveiled in the spring of 2012. Located on the ninth floor, this light-filled, open space was carefully constructed to reflect the art deco details of the tenth and eleventh floors. In addition to views of the city, The Grand Salon features metal ceiling tiles accented by polished silver leaf beams. The highlight of the room is the collection of 1930s-era glass panels from Paris in nature-inspired shades of greens, yellows and browns. With Wi-Fi access, a built-in sound system and a projector and projection screen, The Grand Salon is ideally suited for business and social events requiring advanced audio-visual capabilities.
