A City Club Wedding Soiree – All You Need is LOVE

CHEERS to the newly engaged! The City Club rolled out the red carpet last Friday evening for a Wedding Soiree! Upon arrival, guests were greeted with a glass of bubbly from a glamorous Champagne Skirt. The soothing voices of Bobby Jo Valentine and Vintage Jukebox set the mood!

Guests enjoyed an array of hors d’oeuvres, sample entree selections, and his & hers signature cocktails from The City Club of San Francisco. The dining rooms were decked out head to toe with floral creations by Paul Robertson and custom pastel votives by Glassybaby.

Our Bridal Suite featured stunning bridal gowns from Marina Morrison, make up touch ups and goody bags by Benefit Cosmetics, and a fun selection of jewels and bridesmaids gifts from Stella & Dot.

Next to the bridal suite, a Groom’s Lounge was dressed to impress with a whiskey tasting and a cigar roller. Yes, the grooms had fun too!

Brides, grooms, and their entourage enjoyed an evening of everything wedding!

A very special thank you to all of our fabulous vendors and participants who made this event a success!

Our Favorite Summer Wedding Trends

‘Tis the season for weddings, weddings, and more weddings! We’ve pulled together a few of our favorite “looks” – many of which can be applied to any kind of event, not limited to just weddings. Here’s a few to share:

Hydration Station – Flavored Water: Keep your guests hydrated throughout the day, so they can dance the night away.

Jug of water with citrus fruit, lemon balm and ice cubes

Fresh Fruit for a Sweet Treat: Stay away from the treats with added sugar to can cause you to crash and instead opt for treats with natural sweeteners.

Naked Cakes: Less frosting = less sugar. Not only does the naked cakes offer a lighter option in regards to sugar but it also works well with the summer heat. No stressing that the heat will melt the cake.

Signature Cocktail Station – Make Your Own Drink: Interactive stations have become very popular and for very good reason, who doesn’t like to have a say in how their drinks are made?

Practical Favors:  It’s always nice to receive a cute little something to remember the special day and it’s a bonus if the item is usable. We love these cute little match boxes.

2016 Wedding Trends

The arrival of Spring brings the start of wedding season and we’d love to share our Top 5 Favorite Wedding Trends for 2016.

  1. Metallic Color Palettes – The Golds, Silvers and Coppers are definitely adding a nice twist to the classic looks. You can have a traditional table setting for a seated meal but add something different with gold charges…

Or gold mercury candle votives for a touch of ambiance

2. Lighting Galore – Transform the look of any room or space with great lighting. You can go with something as simple as uplighting to add a touch of color to the room

Or we’ve recently been loving a combination of uplights, market lights, and light-up signage:

3. Non-Floral Centerpiece / Food-Inspired Floral Elements – With the cost of weddings growing increasingly high over the years, saving a little here or there when it comes to the budget is very key. You can certainly do so by straying away from the traditional elaborate centerpieces and instead used succulents or candles arrangements.

Another fun trend that is popping up is the food-inspired floral elements, such as using fruits and vegetables, which is both fun and unique as well as re-usable…go green!

4.  Food Stations & Cocktail Receptions – 2016 is the year to socialize and move away from the traditional seated 1.5-2hr dinners. Instead think about making the “dinner” portion be part of the entire evening by having food stations with Chef Attendants and small plates. This will get the guest moving and talking and give your wedding an extra fun element.

5.  Couples are steering away from the traditional multi-tiered wedding cake and instead opting to have a fun interactive station for the sweet factor at their wedding. This can range anywhere from simple bite size dessert buffets to a more interactive build your own cupcake stations.

Of course there are still options for those of you who like to still have the traditional wedding cake but want a little something extra for the guest….why not include a candy & sweets station to add to the sugar rush for the evening!
