Holiday Party Testimonials

We love events of all kinds, but the holidays are particularly special around The City Club. 2016 was no exception, as the decor sparkled brighter than ever and we entertained more happy guests than any other holiday season in history. We are especially thankful to have such wonderful staff, many of whom have been with The City Club for several years, and a culinary team that continues to inspire and delight our guests with the best that the City has to offer.

We are grateful to our wonderful clients who took the time to share their thanks and feedback about their events this year. See what they are saying:

“I wanted to reach out and give you the biggest THANK YOU that I could possibly give! We had such a great time on Saturday. We also keep getting rave feedback (e.g. “party of the century” “best Party I have EVER been to”, etc.)!  I know that your team was instrumental in making sure that the atmosphere, food, flow, execution, literally EVERYTHING was top notch and we couldn’t be happier with the City Club.” ~Stephanie

“I would like to extend our appreciation for a wonderful event we had last night. Please extend our heartfelt thanks to your staff as everyone was great – from ambiance, food and mostly the service. They really took care of us. This is the best Holiday Celebration we had the last 3-years and we’re hoping to be back in 2017.” ~Murita

“I wanted to take some time to properly Thank-You!!! For helping to make this year’s celebration one of our most memorable events, to date!  The décor was amazing, as were the entrée’s and appetizers.  Again, Thanks so much!!” ~ Meshay

“Thank you for a perfect evening!  We had great support, a professional staff, and a wonderful ambiance and meal. I was so impressed with the kindness and care your staff showed our guests.” ~Rosa

“Our entire event was awesome and you folks did a magnificent job. Things would not have gone as smoothly as they did had you all not been so on top of your game. You have our eternal gratitude. Happy New Year!” ~Brian

“Congratulations on such a stellar job for our company party!! A million thank-you’s for every effort you and your team put forth—it truly ended up being fantastic!” ~ Stephanie

The holidays are on our minds year round…from decor planning, to booking spaces and premium dates early, the spirit of the season is constantly in play! Let us know how we can help you plan your best party!

Thinking Beyond Corned Beef & Cabbage this St. Patrick’s Day

Here at The City Club, we love any excuse to celebrate anything and everything, especially holidays! From food to table scapes and all details in between, we’re always excited about new twists on holiday traditions, so we decided to switch things up this St. Patrick’s Day. For the more traditionalists, rest assured corned beef and cabbage is definitely on the menu in the Member’s Cafe today. We won’t leave you hanging!

Do you know the meaning of “Potluck”?

Potluck, originally meant “what may chance to be in the pot, in provision for a meal; a meal at which no special preparation has been made for guests” now mostly associated with “a meal consisting of whatever guests have brought.”

For your next Spring gathering, be it a St. Patrick’s Day potluck or an Easter or Passover get-together, try one of these delicious green treats (links to recipes listed below):

A Weekend in the Wine Country: Healdsburg

hotel lobby

The City Club Gang met in Healdsburg for a weekend of good wine, good food & even better company.

Hotel Healdsburg, located right on the edge of Healdsburg historic town’s plaza was the perfect combination of modern and charming. With luxurious amenities and accommodations, our management team had the opportunity to enjoy one of the finest experiences that the hospitality industry has to offer.

room

Our first activity was a private tour at MacPhail Family Wines, led by winemaker James MacPhail. We learned about the process of making Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Rose from the Sonoma Coast, Russian River, and Anderson Valley. We took full advantage of the beautiful Spring-like day, enjoying sips of their handcrafted wines in the garden, and nibbling on an array of delicacies from Oakville Grocery. It was the perfect way to kick off the weekend!

After soaking up some afternoon sunshine at the hotel pool, we were treated to a spectacular meal at Chef Charlie Palmer’s Dry Creek Kitchen. WOW! From the fantastic service to the five-star meal, it was a dining experience that won’t soon be forgotten.

If you’re looking for a quick getaway out of the city, Healdsburg is your spot! It’s has the feel of a country town sprinkled the luxury of tasting rooms, fabulous restaurants, and lovely boutiques.

Our favorite find of the weekend may be…Shed! Every food and garden-lovers paradise, all under one roof!

Pre-Cinco de Mayo Party with 7×7 Magazine and Hornitas Tequila

7x7Mixers (2)

Every so often we love the opportunity to step outside of our own venue and see what’s happening around town!

Last week, members of our sales team enjoyed a Pre-Cinco de Mayo party at Southside Spirit House. The event was sponsored by 7×7 Magazine and Hornitas Tequila.

A $10 donation at the door proceeded La Cocina, a San Francisco based organization whose mission is to cultivate low income food entrepreneurs as they formalize and grow their businesses by providing affordable commercial kitchen space, industry-specific technical assistance, and access to market opportunities.

Guests enjoyed Hornitas signature cocktails and Southside small bites. YUM!

We love a good excuse to support our friendly SF neighbors and nonprofits!
